From Mannargudi in the Delta region of Tamil Nadu, Shobana Prabhu’s journey in the laundry industry began in 2021, when the world was battling COVID-19 and hygiene had become more important than ever. She saw one of the most overlooked struggles of student and hostel life — laundry — and introduced the idea of bringing a world-class laundry facility inside college campuses, making laundry more hygienic, organised and convenient while helping institutions improve water savings and laundry discipline.

The concept was a success. But for Shobana, it was only the beginning. After successfully serving institutions, she saw an opportunity to bring the same standards of professional care, technology and hygiene into everyday life — right into the neighbourhood. That vision gave birth to TAËRG. Today, TAËRG is redefining traditional laundry with India’s 1st Pocket-Sized Laundromat, equipped with World’s Best SoftWash WetCleaning, bringing world-class garment care closer to people — from everyday clothing to special, expensive and luxury garments.
